10 Reasons I Love Where I Live

Winter hit Colorado today.

So Monday I went for a long jog to take in the fall! This fall has been one of the most beautiful falls I can ever remember. Normally the leaves turn yellow, but before they get a chance to change much more a storm comes, and then we just have big, naked trees until winter. This year, though. This year we say yellow, deep yellow, orange, burnt orange, fire orange, red, burgundy, and everything in between. Unreal beauty.

Jon and I live in Arvada, CO.  If you were to move here from out of state, you would hear a lot about other areas like: Boulder, Cherry Creek, the Highlands or Wash Park. You may not hear about Arvada, honestly. But to me, Arvada is the best place to live in Colorado. Bar none.

The people here are down to earth. We have restaurants, bars, history and wonderful neighbors. I loooove Arvada!

So here’s a few reasons I love where I live:

  • #10: Our Home

This is our home. It’s small, but perfect. We just painted our deck, Jon did the pave stone, and I just put up our Thanksgiving decor.

  • #9: Our Street
Our street is amazing. We have awesome neighbors, and lots of places to walk dogs. People (mostly) drive slow, and in the summer everyone cooks out!
  • #8: The Train
This thing makes a lot of racket at 4PM, 10PM, and 3AM… But I love it. It’s a part of this city’s heritage. There are few original trains running in America today. I am grateful my neighborhood has one of them.
  • #7: Old People
I didn’t feel comfortable taking a picture of old people as I walked around, but Arvada has a lot of them.  I love them because they are wise, kind, and even in their 70’s, they maintain beautiful yards and gardens. I love the old people of Arvada.
  • #6 The Trees
My town has some old trees too. And new ones. But a lot are old, and HUGE. That yellow one up there is gigantic. It towers over the top of my street. There are lots of trees, and these pictures honestly don’t do their color justice.
  • #5 History
Arvada was established in the late 1800’s. Which isn’t old in the world’s terms, but is very old in America’s terms. This flour mill built in 1875 is just down my street!
  • #4: Olde Town
This is a scarecrow in Olde Town – they decorate for all holidays. It’s my fave 🙂
  • #3 The Water Tower
Pretty cool. Although, I don’t know if it holds water?
  • #2 Bella Bistro
You’ll love it! Go! Bella Bistro!
  • #1 The Evenings
I love Arvada in the evenings. Me and the fam sat out on the patio on Monday where snow has covered everything. We are blessed! Happy Wednesday Everyone!
